Cookie Policy
Essential storage keeps you signed in and runs checkout. Optional analytics and referral cookies are off until you accept. Global Privacy Control counts as Decline. No advertising cookies.
reopens your choice at any time.
Essential (always on)
- Sign-in and account sessions (Apex ID / Apex Pass, Academy access, the account area). These expire or end when you sign out.
- Checkout and security. Stripe may set its own cookies on its payment forms to prevent fraud.
- Your cookie choice (browser storage
afl-cookie-choice, andafl_optoutif you decline), so we do not ask every visit. - Your Apex Pass sign-in token kept in your browser so the arcade and stores recognise you (
apex-pass), only after you sign in. - Learning progress, flashcard and study-timer settings in the Academy, kept in your browser only.
Optional (only after you press Accept optional)
- PostHog analytics (storage names starting
ph_): measures how pages and features are used, to improve them. Loaded only after Accept, and only if analytics is configured. Pressing Decline later stops it and clears its storage. - Referral cookie (
apex_aff, andaxrfor Academy referrals, kept up to 60 and 30 days): if you arrive through an affiliate or learner referral link it remembers the referrer’s code so they can be credited for a purchase. It holds only that code. It is skipped when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is on or when you declined, and it is deleted when you press Decline.
Not cookies, not optional
- Our anonymous visit counter (
/embed/apex-events.js) sets no cookie and uses no browser storage. It sends page views and clicks to our own server with a daily-changing anonymous code, keeps no IP address, and does not run with Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control, or after you press Decline.
The Luke’s Arcade “Play” button (embed/apex-arcade.js)
Other Apex sites show a Play button supplied by this site. The button itself sets no cookies and, on its own, sends no tracking. Anonymous analytics are off unless the host site turns them on after its visitor accepted analytics, and always off with Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Nothing from the arcade loads until you tap Play; then the arcade opens in a frame from www.apexflowlabs.com, where the sign-in token above may be kept if you sign in. The “Return to Apex Flow Labs” pill is only links and sets nothing.
Third-party content
Social-feed pages (for example the Pulse wall) can play YouTube, Instagram or TikTok videos. These load only when you press a play control, or hover a preview after you accepted optional cookies, and then the provider’s own cookie and privacy rules apply.
Your choices
Use Cookie settings in the footer, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or clear site data in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage will stop sign-in from working.
